In the seventeenth-century, Delft was a hotbed of talent – a city where major innovations were taking place. It was here that Johannes Vermeer became a world-class painter. Through key figures in Vermeer’s life, we give insights into the artistic, intellectual and social climate of Delft in the seventeenth century.
